IMODIUM® A-D caplets are used to help control symptoms of diarrhea, including sudden diarrhea and traveler’s diarrhea. Each caplet contains 2 mg of loperamide, which works with your body to help restore gut health to its natural rhythm*, so you can feel better and get back to your day.

IMODIUM® caplets and liquid contain the same active ingredient and work the same way. The main difference is the format. Caplets are a solid, mess-free option, while the liquid allows for flexible dosing.

It is recommended that IMODIUM® A-D caplets be swallowed whole and taken with water. Children 6- 11 years of age should take 1 caplet after the first loose stool and ½ caplet after each subsequent stool, as directed on the drug facts label. Please refer to the dosing directions for when it is appropriate to split a caplet. The caplet has a score for dividing the caplet into two.
